美国能源信息署(EIA)周三公布的数据显示，截至3月5日止一周美国原油库存增加1379.8万桶，而根据英为财情Investing.com财经日历，市场原本预期会增加81.6万桶。
此前一天美国石油协会(API)公布的数据也显示，美国原油库存增加了1279.2万桶。
不过，Axi首席全球市场策略师Stephen Innes指出，“汽油库存减少……提供了看涨理由，显示终端需求强劲，并最终带动油价走高……鉴于有强力的迹象支持美国经济重启的叙事，油价阻力最小的路劲仍是上涨。”
美国能源信息署数据显示，截至3月5日止一周美国汽油库存减少了1186.9万桶。
在2月份袭击美国德克萨斯州和周边地区的寒流对美国库存的影响仍未消退。这场寒流曾导致这些地区炼油厂停工。据报道，全球石油库存也充足，主要的陆上和海上储存设施库存均有所增加。
美国刺激计划料进一步刺激燃油需求。周三，美国众议院批准1.9万亿美元的刺激计划，并预计在周日前提交给拜登签署，正式成为法律。
与此同时，沙特阿拉伯外交大臣费萨尔·本·法尔汗·阿勒沙特亲王(Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud)周三表示，沙特将采取威慑行动保护其石油设施。
本周初，伊朗支持的也门胡塞武装袭击了沙特在Ras Tanura的石油设施。
