相比之下，欧元则显得举步维艰。欧洲新冠疫情形势严峻，德法最近实施更严格的抗疫限制举措，疫苗接种进展远落后于美国，这意味着欧元区经济短期前景不容乐观，同时德国和美国收益率差不断扩大，欧元压力倍增，兑美元触及五个月低位。
针对美元的走势，路透对外汇策略师的最新调查显示，美元至少将继续走强一个月，不过从长线来看，分析师仍预估美元将走弱。
此外，汇市仓位数据显示，美元益发看多的整体趋势依然稳固，对冲基金将整体美元空仓押注削减至2020年6月以来最低水平。
据路透计算及美国商品期货交易委员会(CFTC)周五公布的数据，最近一周投机客持有的美元净空仓规模骤降至去年6月以来最低。截至3月30日当周，美元净空仓降至82.2亿美元，之前一周净空仓规模为107.8亿美元。
由于今年美元的大幅上涨，彭博社最新报道称，在高盛集团建议做空美元近六个月后，该公司宣布退出该交易。
在一份题为"战术撤退"的报告中，高盛汇市团队结清了对澳元和新西兰元等10国集团一篮子商品货币的推荐做空美元头寸。在美国公债收益率飙升引发美元反弹，令全球最密集的宏观交易之一大跌后，该公司加入了对冲基金和其他投资者的行列，纷纷做空美元。
“尽管我们仍预计这些货币兑美元在未来几个季度将升值，但美国经济增长强劲和债券收益率上升可能会在短期内支撑美元，”包括Zach Pandl在内的策略师上周五（4月2日）在一份报告中写道。“在经历了几个月的波动后，我们正在结束推荐的美元空头交易。”
虽然去年底（做空美元）的预测接近共识，但随着经济数据改善和10年期美国国债收益率飙升80个基点，美元相对于其他货币的吸引力上升，这一预测落空。彭博美元现货指数今年已跃升近3%。
自10月9日高盛策略师发布了一份美元兑两篮子发达国家和新兴市场货币的空头建议以来，该指数已下跌约1%。策略师们写道，该交易自推出以来将获得5%的收益，尽管今年年初以来“基本持平”。
不过高盛团队表示，随着欧洲疫情好转，做空美元的机会可能再度出现。预计未来三个月欧元将上涨约3%，至1.21美元的水平，一年后将试探1.28美元的水平。
