美国疾病控制和预防中心近日发布的一份报告显示，2020年全美有360万人出生，低于2019年的374万人，同比下降4%，这是美国出生人数连续第六年下降，也是自1979年以来新生儿数量最少的一年。
报告显示，2020年美国的一般生育率同比下降4%，一般生育率指每1000名15岁至44岁育龄女性对应的活产婴儿数。此次的数据显示，每一千名15至44岁的育龄女性生育数量为55.8个子女。
自2014年以来，美国一般生育率以年均2%的速度连续下降。生育率下降的趋势在年轻女性中更为明显。数据显示，从2019年到2020年，20岁至24岁女性的生育率下降了6%，25岁至29岁女性的生育率下降了4%，均创历史新低。
报告还指出，美国目前处于生育更替水平以下，这意味着每天死亡的人数比出生的人数多。根据美国疾病控制和预防中心的统计数据，自2007年以来美国持续处于生育更替水平以下。
专家：失业率上升与出生率下降存在关联
美国消费者新闻与商业频道指出，有专家表示，出生率下降可能意味着被统计的人口中，不少人缺乏住房和食品等重要资源，失业率上升与出生率下降之间也存在关联。
美国哥伦比亚广播公司新闻网站援引马里兰大学社会学家菲尔·科恩的话说，根据历史数据，预计2021年美国的出生率也将大幅下降。美国布鲁金斯学会2020年12月预测，2021年美国的新生儿数量将减少约30万，美国将出现大规模且持久的生育萧条。
