美国劳工部公布的数据显示，美国5月消费者物价指数（CPI）月率跃升0.6%，为连续第四个月大幅上涨。美国5月核心CPI月率上涨0.7%。
美国5月CPI年率上涨5%，升幅超出市场预期的4.7%，创下2008年8月以来的最快增速。美国4月CPI年率上涨4.2%。
美国CPI数据公布后，美元指数短线波动加剧。美元指数短线拉升近30点刷新日高至90.32，但随后很快冲高回落，一度跌至89.99低点。有分析师指出，尽管通胀上升，但美联储不会急于在近期收紧货币政策。美联储维持利率在低位不利于美元。
欧洲央行周四维持利率和刺激计划不变。欧洲央行表示，关键利率预计将继续维持在当前甚至更低的水平，直到通胀前景显著靠近足够接近、但低于2%的水平。
