在回答有关通胀以及美联储何种情况下会采取措施的问题时，鲍威尔说，尽管随着经济重启，物价压力料将升高，但这个过程是暂时的，如果这个现象看起来可能长期持续，美联储会采取行动。我们将非常密切关注通胀预期。如果看到他们持续变化，并显著超过我们希望的水平，我们会作出回应。
数据显示，上周美国初请失业金人数意外上升。RJO Futures高级市场策略师Bob Haberkorn表示，美元和美国国债收益率正在回落，这是目前的关键催化剂。相当乏善可陈的失业金数据也在帮助推动金价走高。
ActivTrades首席市场分析师Carlo Alberto De Casa指出，美元的上行趋势在消散，黄金市场将获得一些上行动能。
花旗银行（Citi）则认为，黄金市场的盘整恐怕还将维持一段时间。今年余下时间里，黄金市场预计在1700至1900美元/盎司区域内，全年均价将在1800美元/盎司。
