在最近的一次电视采访中，美联储主席鲍威尔（Jerome Powell）对美国经济表达了乐观的看法，称经济正处于拐点，就业机会将加速增长。
鲍威尔在接受哥伦比亚广播公司“60分钟”节目采访中表示，由于广泛的疫苗接种，以及强有力的财政支持和货币政策支持，美国经济似乎正处于拐点，“我们觉得我们现在的经济增长速度会快得多，创造就业机会的速度也会快得多。”
鲍威尔发表此番评论之际，美国股票指数正处于创纪录水平，得益于人们对经济复苏的乐观态度。美国疫苗接种的加速也提振了对经济的乐观预期。
美国疾病控制与预防中心（CDC）的数据显示，美国已接种了约1.83亿剂疫苗。美国近一半的成年人，以及65岁及以上人群中的近80%，至少接受了一剂疫苗。
何时踩刹车？
鲍威尔此次表态比以往都更加乐观。上个月，鲍威尔表示，夏季几个月的任何通胀上升都将是暂时的，与目前的货币政策无关。即使通货膨胀率略微高于2%的目标，美联储也不太可能在经济基本完全恢复之前提高利率。
然而，当被问及，美联储何时会开始对经济“踩刹车”，鲍威尔回答道，直到劳动力市场基本完成复苏，实现充分就业，且通胀回到2%，并有望在一段时间内升至2%以上，我们才会考虑加息。
“我们还需要一段时间才能实现这个目标，”鲍威尔说道。
美联储在上周发布的会议纪要中强调，在就业和通胀方面“取得实质性的进一步进展”还需要一段时间，并表示预计将把利率维持在历史低位直到2023年。
主要风险：疫情可能再次蔓延
不过鲍威尔指出，目前经济面临的主要风险是疫情可能再次蔓延。如果人们能够继续保持社交距离并戴上口罩，那将是一种明智的做法。
鲍威尔表示：“这个国家的许多地区正在热情地重新开放。时间会证明这是否为时过早。”鲍威尔称，近期新冠病例的上升尽管低于去年冬天，但仍令人担忧。
近日，美国疫情出现抬头迹象。美国约翰斯·霍普金斯大学当地时间4月7日公布数据显示，过去一周，美国新增新冠肺炎确诊病例增加明显，超过45万，其中密歇根州、纽约州等五个州报告的新增病例数占了约44%。
关于Archegos爆仓和数字美元
鲍威尔在CBS采访中，还对近期的Archegos资本爆仓事件发表了看法。
鲍威尔称参与这起事件的金融机构其实了解他们自己所承担的风险，但他们不知道的是，同时有五六家大宗经纪商在承担相同的风险。当需要平仓时，有几家公司都会试图平仓。
鲍威尔说，美联储正在密切关注这一情况，以防止类似事件再次发生，“我们决心弄清楚发生了什么，并确保这样的事情不会再次发生。”
采访中还提及了数字美元。鲍威尔称，美联储正在开发软件，甚至设计美国数字美元的外观，但只有在充分了解其影响后，才会最终决定向公众发布它。
