针对美元本周走势，接受FX168调查的分析师中，有50%受访者表示看空美元，另有50%则持震荡看法。
FX Empire分析师指出，美元指数跌破200天简单移动平均线92.33，日支撑在91.60，随后在91和90则会看到更多支撑。以美元指数衡量的美元，上周下跌近1%，并突破三周的看涨阶段。从技术上讲，本周亮点是美元指数跌破200天简单移动平均线，该均线通常被解释为看跌信号。
趋势方面，自从美元指数在2020年3月达到顶峰以来，就持续存在下行偏见，由明显的较低低点和较低高点形成。有趣的是，3月31日的峰值93.43与当前下降趋势内的看跌波早期阶段相呼应，尤其是在跌破200天简单移动平均线之后。
如相对强度指数（RSI）所示，动能在最近的走势中突破了支撑位55.67，现在被认为是可能的阻力，强调了进一步下行动能至支撑位41.24的可能性。综合以上几点，技术研究暗示本周美元将进一步走软，初步目标为91.64。
经纪商Monex Europe的货币分析师西蒙·哈维（Simon Harvey）表示：“由于中国和美国的通货膨胀数据激发了美国国债曲线的恢复，在经历了一周的下跌之后，美元出现盘整。”
他继续分析道：“受压抑的需求推动，预计今年通货膨胀将加剧，并且去年春季疲软的数据已从计算中剔除。美国许多州强制关闭非基本业务，旨在减缓新冠疫情浪潮之际的价格暴跌。”
但大多数经济学家和美联储官员认为，由于劳动力市场疲软，较高的通货膨胀将是暂时的。美联储主席鲍威尔发表重要讲话，表示全球疫苗接种进度不一，是经济复苏面临的风险。尽管美国经济前景光明，但美国经济复苏仍然不完整、不均衡，约有900万至1000万人仍然处于失业状态，需要继续得到援助，美联储同时承诺持续为经济提供支持。
美联储理事布雷纳德（Lael Brainard）也指出，美国经济前景有明显好转的迹象，但就业人数仍比疫情前减少约900万人。美联储官员表示，他们不但希望能看到充分就业的环境，还希望能在收入、种族和性别等方面的包容性增长。他强调：“按照这意义来看，在美国经济取得成果之前，我们还有很长的路需要走。”
